Montrose Runway Fashion Week – A Show for a Cause

October 07: Montrose Runway Fashion Week, the MRFW, is a ‘Show for a Cause,’ organized under the aegis of Montrose Foundation, Delhi, a not-for-profit NGO dedicated to uplift the under-privileged section of the society, for the past eight years. The organization is working relentlessly for the bigger picture of opening an Orphanage for taking care of such children who lack a family and educating and protecting them from social problems and crimes to give them a better future.
With this aim and vision in mind, MRFW envisioned creating a platform to merge Fashion, Talent, and creativity with the cause to raise funds for various societal problems.
With this aim, ‘Montrose Runway Fashion Week’ was first organized in Noida in December 2020, supporting cancer patients and survivors of this deadly disease, which is a challenge even in today’s advanced science era. The organization’s objective is to provide the much-needed physical and mental support to the people affected by this illness and its after-effects and overcome the challenges posed by it. Bollywood celebrities Ashmit Patel and Sara Khan became the supporters, gracing the occasion with their presence and honoring those involved with the cause.
The second edition was recently held in Jaipur in March 2021, which was for the education of the low-income group children. The event was graced by Rahul Dev and Mugdha Godse, tall Bollywood and Tollywood film industries.
Presently, Edition 3 was held at Laxmi Studios, Noida, on September 24th & 25th, 2021, under Beti ki Pathshala’, in association with Beti Foundation, a society committed to Girl child education and women empowerment. The Founder and organizer of the show, Mr Vishal Montrose, was assisted by his able team, with co-organizer Mr Nitin Bhrdwaj, an actor and professional model, and Mr Yatin Gandhi, a Mumbai based stylist.
As the chief guest, the event was presided over by Mr Amardeep Singh, Founder & CEO of Vikramshila University. The celebrities who graced the occasion included famous names such as Mr Sayakam Anand (Film Actor), Mr Dinesh Mohan (Mode/Film Actor), Ms Manya Singh (Miss India 2020), Mr Vipin Bhardwaj (Model/Film Actor), and Ms Elakshi Gupta (Model/ TV Actor).
The show included diverse categories in fashion and accessories, showcased by professional models and fresh faces, who are always encouraged and provided a launch platform courtesy of MRFW. At the same time, some differently-abled models were also a part of the walk. Song and Dance performances also took place to keep the audiences entertained.
A new dimension was added at the event when the Boomerang, popularly known as ‘Mowgli’s Tool’ (of “The Jungle Book” fame), was displayed by the Founder President of Indo-Boomerang Association Mr Vivek Montrose, along with his team members, to which all the celebrities joined in to show their support for the sport. It may be worthwhile to mention that the sport is already played worldwide, and Mr Vivek Montrose is working hard to recognise this heritage as a sport in India.
Montrose Foundation endeavours to continue its efforts for such social causes and thanks to all the sponsors, participants, and supports for their remarkable contribution.
